Bowling Alone: The Loneliness Epidemic in American Culture
November 18, 2024
After finding my own personal recovery, I came to the realization that I wanted to help others by working in substance abuse treatment. I began my work in this field over seven years ago, where my passion began to grow. Through the years, I have completed my bachelor’s degree in songwriting from Berklee College of Music, and then my master’s in social work from Florida State University. I have worked at Recovery Unplugged for the past six years and have found that this was the perfect place to blend my love of music with my love of recovery and group therapy. As the Program Manager, I work to find creative ways to bring music and creativity into the therapeutic process and form a curriculum of therapy groups that are engaging and helpful. When I am not at work, I enjoy playing and listening to music, playing pickleball, and spending time with my husband, friends, and two dogs Bubba and Juno.
