Family Support

At Recovery Unplugged, we recognize that addiction and mental health disorders impact not just those struggling, but also their families and friends. Loved ones of those battling addiction often face significant emotional and psychological challenges. Our experience shows that family involvement and understanding can greatly enhance the recovery process for the individual in treatment.

To support families Recovery Unplugged has a weekly support group via Zoom every. This group provides a space for education, discussion, and addressing concerns, offering a vital forum for families to gain insight and support throughout their loved one’s treatment.

Supporting Loved Ones in Treatment

A large percentage of individuals undergoing treatment will want to leave a program prematurely at some point. This can often be a response to the stress and shame that an individual feels when battling their issues.

Unfortunately in same cases a family trying to help an induvial can actually further contribute to the issue and disrupt the recovery process.

The family should learn be strong enough to say NO to a loved one in recovery when they ask to come home. This might mean not taking phone calls, refusing requests for funds and allowing the patient work through the discomfort.
