At Recovery Unplugged, we’re reminded every day of our alumni community’s incredible talent, passion, and potential. It’s not every day, however, that the entire world gets the chance to see their gifts, too.
We’re incredibly proud and excited to announce that singer-songwriter and former Recovery Unplugged client Adam David will be debuting on NBC’s The Voice on Monday, March 3rd at 8/7c.
Adam is not only a Recovery Unplugged alum, but also a true ally and advocate for the recovery community. During a recent performance at our Feel-Good Friday concert series, he shared the incredible full-circle significance of playing for an audience he once occupied—people who are engaged in the same struggles he once faced: “One of the things I like to point out to clients is that there are seats in the audience that are indented because they’ve been used so much. I tell them, ‘One of you is sitting in my seat.’”
Adam has continued to work with Recovery Unplugged as one of the first clients of our Elsewhere program, an initiative that provides personalized recovery and mental health treatment and support to professionals in the music industry while they’re on tour. He has performed at multiple Feel-Good Friday events and continues to write, record, and perform in his homebase of South Florida and throughout the United States.
Ahead of his upcoming debut on The Voice, Adam recently appeared on our Talksicology podcast to discuss his journey as an artist and his past mental health challenges. The episode—and his whole story—is a reminder of what is possible in recovery. We couldn’t be prouder of Adam as he prepares to deservedly take one of the largest current stages in music and pop culture. You heard it here first!
Catch Adam’s performance on the Voice this coming Monday at 8/7 on NBC and Peacock.
